Senior IT Security Analyst - Contract

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior IT Security Analyst to join our client's team and play a vital role in protecting their next-generation 911 systems. In this role, you will leverage your 8+ years of experience with Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) to analyze vulnerabilities, implement robust security controls, and stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.

Responsibilities:

• Review and assess the security posture of our firewall systems, identifying vulnerabilities and designing improvements.
• Conduct thorough security assessments to determine appropriate security requirements based on business strategies and needs.
• Analyze and recommend appropriate security assurance levels to safeguard critical data and applications.
• Evaluate existing security policies and procedures, proactively identifying and mitigating next-generation threats.
• Analyze and recommend effective security solutions, including prevention designs, SSL encryption/decryption strategies, vulnerability protection profiles, content filtering, and perimeter security controls.
• Stay abreast of emerging threats and exploits, developing and implementing expert firewall solutions to mitigate risks.
• Proactively identify and analyze risks associated with critical applications, recommending and implementing appropriate security controls.
• Clearly communicate identified security risks to relevant business units, fostering a culture of security awareness.

Qualifications:

• ** Strong understanding of security principles and best practices. **
• ** Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT security analysis, with a focus on network security. **
• ** Proven experience in firewall configuration, management, and troubleshooting. **
• ** In-depth knowledge of security policies, procedures, and best practices. **
• ** Experience in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies. **
• ** Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. **
• ** Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical audiences. **
